I was wondering what the magic number is residency wise, especially the competitive residencies? I'm hearing 240 is all you need not to get filtered out. How true is that?

Is that true for the most part, even to places like Harvard, Hopkins etc?

You'll hear all sorts of numbers. I think a lot of it is BS. Best to just do your best and get the highest score possible.
