Is it possible to magnify a virtual image? On a BR CBT the answer said that you can't magnify a virtual image, because the light rays aren't actually there. On a GS CBT it had a endoscope w/ a diverging lens first that was then magnified by a convex lens. These seem to contradict one another...Which is right?

BR is correct. a virtual image may appear magnified using our linear magnification equation, but you can't take an "existing" virtual image and make it bigger since the light rays aren't there (think of the typical flat mirror example--we couldn't take your virtual image in a flat mirror and make it larger). i don't have GS CBT's so i can't comment on the question, but BR is correct in the explanation you gave
