Hey guys, gotta question for y'all. I'm going into my junior year in college and I'm really thinking about switching my major to Economics from Bio. I've done fine in all my classes so far, but I go to one of those top liberal arts schools that has a very malignant bio program. I know your major doesn't count as much your GPA, so I know those B and B+ won't do me any favors. Is it feasible to switch to Econ and be competitive if I do decently well in my pre reqs?

Also. about summer school? Does it look weird if I take most pre reqs over the summer? Starting the major junior year, I'm going to have to take 3 Econ classes a semester with some gen eds to finish on time?
Is too much summer school a bad thing?

Major doesn't matter in the long run. Just do well in both your sGPA and cGPA. When you're asked during interviews "why Econ?", have a better answer than "it was easier than bio".

If you don't mind taking classes in the summer, go for it. It doesn't look weird. I personally didn't like summer classes, but hey, that's just me.

No. Credit is credit. An econ major can be quite useful for you in the long run as a physician. Besides, doctors need more financial literacy.

Thanks for those answer! Also when interviewing, do y'all think I could answer the major question with "MD/MBA" possibly in my future? I feel like a background in how the business side of healthcare works is pretty important if one was a physician
