  1. Pre-Medical
I was planning on taking the pre-med requisites and majoring in biology but the thought of not being accepted to a med school is also a possibility as none of us can foresee the future and say where we will be in 4 years from now. Is majoring in engineering or business while pursuing the pre-med requisites hard? Also, what would be a nice major to keep as a backup? Also, does it take longer to take a major besides sciences (engineering, business, etc...) to complete undergraduate or is it still 4 years?

I have always advocated that engineering, if you can handle the curriculum, is an excellent stepping stone to ANYTHING you will want to do later in life.

That said, the engineering curriculum teaches you to think, learn, and problem solve instead of memorizing facts. As such, many engineering students lack the memorization skills that the purer sciences have developed.
