Make-A-Wish..anyone volunteer?

Hey all!

So i just recieved a call back from the Make-A-Wish regional director, and they accepted me as a Wish Granter...I'll be the person responisble for going into homes and hospitals of Make-A-Wish applicants, helping them to decide what their dream is, and then organizing fundraisers & making the dream come true.

Has anyone else volunteered for them? If so, what was your experiences like?? I'm pretty excited about it!

i think its a good idea. i think its good that your interested in other types of work besides medical related work. i think it's good to have a mix of both. i'm planning on volunteering for Habitat for Humanity helping build houses for the needy. good luck with that!

Habitat for Humanities is an awesome organization! A friend of mine is involved with them and she loves it... she keeps a scrap book of every house they work on and it looks like they have a lot of fun!

I've been volunteering for Make-a-wish for a few years now and it is a blast! The kids are so strong and positive, it's absolutely inspirational. And who doesn't love the looks on their faces when they try to figure out which magical wish they want granted. =)

How's the wish granting going so far? Have you encountered any particularly memorable situations?

You can go to the main website http://www.wish.org/ and search for the make-a-wish office nearest you. Call them up or email them and they'll let you know when their next meeting/orientation is.
