So has anyone else actually listened to Kanye's part in "Make Her Say" with Kid Cudi and Common?

When you use your medulla oblongata
And give me scoliosis until I comatoses
And do it while I'm asleep, yeah a little osmosis

Hmmm... somewhat inaccurate, haha. Still love the song though 🙂

Hmm.. well the medulla oblongata would be involved with regulating breathing and heart rate. The cerebrum plays a larger role in controlling voluntary actions, but Kanye's obviously just trying to rhyme.

Scoliosis and comatoses are hyperbole, but I wouldn't say inaccurate.

The osmosis part involves the most glaring physiological discrepancy. The response he is describing is under sympathetic control of the bulbospongiosus. There is no differential concentration gradient across a semi-permeable membrane, but I think he's just trying to evoke a general image of fluid movement. 🙂

I somehow doubt this is the logic used by Kanye West.

In fact, I somehow doubt that man uses logic at all.

He called himself the "voice of his generation," not the father of human physiology.

This is completely tangential, but my German girlfriend listened to the song and understood its meaning, but wondered why Americans are so obsessed with the form of sexual culture (i.e. oral sex) implied in the song.

Double boo... the man even has some insights into health disparities in the United States. From "Roses:"

You know the best medicine go to people thats paid,
If Magic Johnson got a cure for A.I.D.S.
And all the broke... past away
You tellin me if my grandma was in the N.B.A.
Right now she'd be ok?
But since she was just a secretary
Working for the church
For thirty five years
Things sposed to stop right here
My grandfather tryin to pull it together, he's strong,
Thats where I get my confidence from
I asked the nurse "did you do the research?"
She ask me, "can you sign some t-shirts?"
...
You dont see that we hurt
But still...

Sweet info, brah.

I concur, doctor.

Yeah, that was a cool song about his Grandma, and back when he was still rapping and not 'auto-tuning' it in. Still crazy and egotistical back then, but at least his songs meant something back then.

Nah, I like a lot of rap music.
In fact, I like a lot of Kanye's music. He's a good artist.
But, still a douche. 😀

I would be very sad if my girlfriend said this 🙁
