Make-up / Cosmetics in the OR?

This might be a stupid question... but are you not supposed to wear any make-up when you're in the OR?

At our institution, makeup is allowed (although one of the RNs who wears glitter was asked to stop). I'm sure there is some hospital out there that has a problem with it, though -- if you're worried ask at the OR control desk.

Make up is ok in general, but nail polish is not.
