Have you started emailing admissions about whether or not your application is complete?

Also, U of Illinois states that their status page will be updated in mid-October, but mine still just links me to my supplemental. It also states that you have to let them know about problems before Nov 1. I think I'm going to go ahead and email them. Just wanted to know if anyone had any more info!

They've been working on the site since the deadline for transcripts(Oct. 15th).

They should have the status page up by mid next week, which is sort of the time frame for last year.

Hey I just went to the UIUC website and my status page works! Woo! So, everyone should check theirs again. Also, my Iowa State U page finally shows my VMCAS application as "received" so that is a big relief.

There is a line on the UIUC status page that says "Interview Status Confirmation: pending application review" or something like that-- does that mean it will tell us on that page if we get invited for an interview??

That's how they did it last year. They also sent an e-mail and a letter.

Yay for the Illinois status page! It is so comprehensive. And it's a relief to see that they've actually received everything (what are the odds?).

But it does hit home to me how hard the Admissions offices have to work - retyping every single class I've ever taken? It's like they have to fill out the dreaded VMCAS course upload page x 1000 applicants!

Most of mine sent me an e-mail saying when they would let us know if our applications were incomplete (and give us time to fix it). I e-mailed the ones that didn't, and they all got back to me very promptly and confirmed they had everything. I'm impressed!

Are there other vet schools that put up a page for applicants to check? I didn't apply to Illinois but interested in the following:

UTK
Auburn
Miss State
Missouri
Kansas State

Thanks

Pete

The Illinois application status page is up. It came up sometime on Monday because I was able to view it when I checked it Monday night.

Iowa has had a status page since the application time.

Ohio sends an e-mail with the link to theirs, but they only list if your transcripts are complete.

Colorado's will be up Oct 24th, so they say.

I just received an email today from U of Minn stating my app was complete.

Btw, I also received an email from Michigan State saying that their supplemtals will be sent out in the first week of December.

Uh oh, when did you receive that?? :scared:

ETA: (The Michigan e-mail)

Colorado's materials status page is up!!

Yeah - I noticed that today as well! I'm so happy to see that CSU received all the transcripts that the post office said they lost! 🙂

My CSU status page shows that they have "received" a transcript that I havn't even sent yet (for my Fall '08 class). Oops! I mean, I'm pretty good, but I'm not thaaat good. 😛

ETA: (The Michigan e-mail)

Yesterday, the 23rd. It was just a mass email I think. They sent links to their updated web pages - course requirements, student evaluation etc and mentioned that they would be sending out the supplementals in the first week of December.

Really? My email said it would be late October-November

I have copied and pasted what my email said below.

" An electronic request to complete a Supplemental Application and submit
a $50.00 fee will be requested from those with a competitive Scholastic
Indicator Score (SIS). Once this electronic request is received, you
will have five business days to complete the application and return it
with the fee. We will request Supplemental Applications the first week
in December
."

Are you sure they said late October November? Now I am worried. :scared: Why did they send you different info than me?

Another unrelated question-

Does anyone know what the GRE score on your U of I status page represents?

It's not the average of my verbal and quant scores on GRE.😕

Is the email I received on October 16th.

Haha, mine said October-November, and I got it in October. It must just be whoever they receive first gets the invite first.

Phew, I was afraid they had sent out ANOTHER e-mail to those who were going to be receiving the supplemental.

Wait... did you get the supplemental already? I am confused!

Sorry, when I said I got it in October, I meant I got the e-mail in early October telling me that they would be sending out supplementals in October - November. I don't believe anyone got the supplemental invite yet.

Since you all are talking about MSU....I am really worried considering that I didn't even get an e-mail from MSU at all....:scared:

Malhi--

Mine looks to be the percentage I earned on the verbal section of the GRE. Not really sure why they chose that number, or what exactly it means.

Ben and Me

Thanks for answering my query. Mine is not my verbal score. It just seems to be extremely low? Mine is around a 71.62... If you don't mind, what is yours?
I hope they don't have the wrong information!

Are you sure it isn't the average of the PERCENTILES rather than the actual scores? Percentile is what matters, not the actual numbers - a 700 on the verbal and a 700 on the quant mean completely different things in that regard.

Thanks. Actually I was talking about percentiles when I wrote scores. It is not the average of the verbal and quant percentiles. My percentile is an average of around 81 but it shows 71 something on the status page.😕

What about your writing percentile?

MSU does do rolling admissions... last year, they sent supplementals out to everyone who applied but did rolling interviews (in Oct/Nov, Dec, and Feb). I believe the majority of my class was filled by interviews.

This year, the admissions process has changed. Still doing rolling admissions but not everyone gets a supplemental. Based on your GPA (cumulative, science, and last 3 semesters) plus GRE scores, they will calculate a scholastic indicator score (SIS) and that determines who gets a supplemental. This is now the rolling part of the process - supplementals are going out based as SIS scores are calculated.

Based on your SIS score and your supplemental essays, you may get an automatic admit - it's my understanding that they want to fill next year's class with 60% or more auto admits. It's also my understanding that you will get an interview only if there's something on your application that needs clarification and the supplemental doesn't give that clarification.

Feel free to PM me with questions and I'll see what I can find out for you. Good luck :luck:

Nyanko, I have tried all sorts of permutations combinations, it doesn't add up. 🙁 I hope Illinois gets back to me about the score soon. Maybe I am freaking out for no reason.

rustysmom- Thank you for the information. I have been hoping that I get in without having to give an interview 😉.

What about your writing percentile?
Illinois will take the average of your written, quantitative, and verbal percentile scores and that is what they base your GRE off of. Usually if you are between 50-70% or in some cases at least above a 40%, you shouldn't worry as long as you have a good GPA.

What does everyone's UIUC page say for the eLORs. Mine says there are 3 expected and under the status they call them selected. What does that mean? Does that mean they haven't gotten them yet??

That's because some people sent more than 3 (like me! I sent 4). Mine says 4 expected and the status for 3 is selected. UIUC only accepts 3 letters and those are the ones that show the selected status.

Has anybody heard anything from VMRCVM about whether or not their application is complete? I emailed a while ago and haven't gotten a response.

Nope - I'm in the same boat - have heard nothing yet. Hopefully soon!

I am still waiting for both Penn and VMCRVM to get back to me. 🙄

Just got an email from Wisconsin verifying that my application is complete.

They mentioned again that sometime this month we'll have to fill out their supplemental app, but didn't give an ETA for it.

Anyone know approx what time last year their supplementals went out? I want to get it over with!!!

I got my supplemental application for Wisconsn yesterday and an email from Penn confirming that my application was complete.

"Interview invitations are sent out weekly from late December through March, with at least two weeks' advance notice of the interview date. Those applicants whom we believe are less academically qualified will begin to hear from us as soon as we can determine their comparative ranking with other applicants. "

Still waiting on VMRCVM's confirmation!
