Sheesh! I've been studying for this dang Step 1 for about a month now...the first two weeks pretty lax (~3hrs/day...5-6 days a week), the last two somewhat more focused (5-6 hrs/day...5-6 days/week), with about a three day period between the two where I was experiencing some minor burnout. This is more than I have ever studied before (top of undergrad class...middle third of med school class), and I'm finding that not all of it is sticking! My curriculum was problem based and we had exams every 5-6 weeks, but the amount of material we are all covering now blows any one of those tests outta the water! I'm not looking for advice or anything, just venting about what most of us are probably experiencing (i.e. some of the finer details that we reviewed/learned only two weeks ago are no longer around for immediate recall, and some of the big stuff we reviewed/learned a month ago are hangin' out with 'em! I wonder where they go...).

Keep on truckin' everyone...we're almost there!

Yeah, I started almost 3.5 weeks ago with neuro, gross, embryo, stats...its all starting to fade away. Im trying to look at FA for those sections every day now until my doom err...test date. Whats frustrating is getting burned on a qbank question on crap you were *supposed* to have under your belt. My third year friends warned be about turning into a cynical bitter person during step 1, but dammit! I cant help it. It seems like I should have a hell of a lot more to show for a couple weeks of 9-10 hour days. But I dont.

Legion.

i was planning on getting up at 6 everyday, hitting the books by 7, taking a 30 min lunch break at noon, workout/eat 4-6, studying 6-10... YEAH RIGHT!! the best laid plans of mice and men...

hahahaha..that so describes me

Original plan was to get up at 7 and hit the books by 8, 1hr lunch, gym..etc
Worked well the 1st week. Thats about it. Now just try to study whenever I can. So much for the routine. And gym, where is that??

I totally agree with the whole "can't stick to my intended schedule thing." I initially had aspirations of getting up by 8, starting by 9AM taking a few breaks here and there and studying until 11PM. This worked for all of one day. I just can't seem to get out of bed in the morning. I might wake up at 9:30 or 10 and continue to lay in bed for at least another hour flipping back and forth between Dawson's Creek and ER! How pathetic has my life become when watching Dawson's Creek is actually considered entertaining!!! Oh, well only 15 more days.

speaking of TV programs, anyone been following Sopranos?? the last episode i saw was when tony & his wife threw the bday party for her father, and it looked like they were getting back together... someone catch me up!!

(also an update on real world SD would be delightful!)

i know what you mean about real world...i looked at the clock tuesday night and realized that suddenly Heme became so much more important than watching 7 people i dont even know and their drunk hijinks....how sad my life has become 😀 here's the link to mtv

they give you a blow-by-blow for the episodes.....if you tuned into watch a certain pierced, odd-hair color girl you're gonna be disappointed. Frankie has left!

thanks for the link. they even have clips from the shows; after watching 3 ~30 sec clips from each show i think i'm caught up! as for frankie, i figured she wouldn't make it through the season. a very smart, eccentric girl with many problems-- i wish her the best. she needs to just relax a bit, and hopefully her health will hold up (she has CF and really does nothing special to take care of herself, smokes, drinks, etc!!!)
