How are you guys managing going to seperate interviews. My schedule is going to have me in every corner of the US literally within two weeks time. How are you guys coordinating all this, and paying for it. Are you all planning on flying from place to place, or returning home to leave again. Any tips on travel and buying cheap airfare would be greatly appreciated.

yeah.. very pricy.. I guess for you you can go from DMU to KCUMB by bus or train.. air air.. not that far should be cheap. You can prob change the interview date for COMP to 9/22 or 9/23 and you can go directly to LA and then AZCOM. Then head home for a shower and laundry and then to UNE. Make sure you get frequent flyer points. I am using mine to fly from Toronto to Boston, and hopefuly to CCOM and PCOM. which one are you considering dropping COMP... ??

Bingo! Thanks for the reply

i just bought my tix from AA for the COMP interview. then i just got the AZCOM interview...i should just string those interviews together esp because im on the east coast...argh.

You can always move your interviews around, i.e. request to interview later at schools you don't like the most, or feel you are more likely to get accepted to

I live in MI, so I'm flying to LA for COMP, and driving to KCOM (9hrs), DMUCOM (8hrs), and MSUCOM. The driving trips are when it comes in handy to have physical friends (not just SDN friends)!
But, my interviews are all spaced at least a week apart, so that probably doesn't help you.

first off....cheer! Your fortuante to have multiple interviews!!! WOO HOOO!

Second....I went to 10 interviews last year and turned down 4. I can say from experience that I did some serious travel time and missed a bit of school.

Your going to bleed out of your pocketbooks but you'll be happy to visit all the schools cause your going to end up making a 200K investment. Hell...5 or so thousand is a drop in the bucket compared to that.

Oh....and one of my trips last year was knoxville to detroit to erie then back to detroit to phoenix then to LA and then to memphis then back to knoxville....yes it was expensive but it ended up being much cheaper to do those interviews like that than indivdually. Its also contigent on being able to schedule your interviews like that.

I lucked out, it seems that my interviews have all been scheduled about a week apart from each other. I was hoping to get AZ and TUCOM-MI close enough to fly from one city to the next, but no such luck so I'll be back and forth from coast to coast a few times, lol. If I get an acceptance from an earlier school I'm interviewing at then I'll probably get more picky about accepting interviews.

If you manage to fly with the same airline, you may be able to store up some frequent flyer miles and get a free flight for your last interview, right? 😀 Or maybe just a "relax, it's all over" vacation in Hawaii or something.

Who are you guys using to buy all of your airfare are you using like Expedia or something or just directly through the airlines?

I am going to drop interviews as soon as I get an acceptance to a school I like. Then I'll take only certain interviews.

Yeah that is what I was planning to do but Frances is keeping from hearing form my first school. I was planning on dropping all but 3 interview invites if I get into NSU. Now, I have KCUMB, VCOM, AZCOM, DMU, KCOM, and UNE scheduled within a couple weeks of each other and I don't know what to do?

Ask for a later date for some.

Go to the ones you want.

Book on SWA and get a free ticket to use one the short notice ones. Ideally, you should have a couple FF miles tickets available for these interviews.

You can buy SWA rapid rewards tickets and use them. People sell them on places like eBay. 2 one way tickets usually go for $250 - 300. This can be really, really helpful especially since they can be used at any time. Of course, you aren't supposed to transfer these rapid rewards tickets...but if you can get around it, then it can save lots of money.
