With interviews coming up and already happening, I'm trying to prepare. What questions are we guaranteed to be asked? I'll start...

1) Tell me about yourself
2) Why do you want to be a doctor?
3) Why X school?

Name all possible causes of right sided abdominal pain. I got that question so much. Like be original, am I right or what?

I was thinking medical school interview questions, not really residency ones. Hope I won't be expected to know that lol. uhhhhhh appendicitis??

this is something that is easy to google or search for.

also, SDN interview feedback reports: http://studentdoctor.net/schools/schools/type_list
click on your school of choice, and under the "interview feedback" heading, click on "view survey results." scroll down to the questions tab.

there are no guaranteed questions really. #1 on your list will most likely happen at every interview, but i also had interviews where we just started chatting about something and never really had structured question/answer time. #2 and #3 will also more than likely happen. other common ones:
4. what do you do for fun?
5. what clinical experiences have you had?
6. have you done research?
7. what is your biggest strength?
8. what is your biggest weakness?
9. why should we pick you?
10. what would you do if you didn't get into med school?

the list goes on...

Don't forget that what YOU ask them is just as important as what they ask you. They want to see your interest and if you are a good applicant you want to make sure you end up as the school that is the bet fit for YOU. Here are some suggestions "Ten Questions You Must Ask During Your Medical School Interview" a lot of these you wouldn't ordinarily think to ask but can dramatically change your medical school experience.
