should I include that I often work on my cars myself, DIY type stuff, interior, exterior, under the hood a little ..for carshow purposes....as a relation to manual dexterity? i never worked on cars professionally though, so is it worth including somehow?

Definitely. I do a little car work myself and included it on my application.

professionally or kind of leisurely ? what kind of work? and did u include it in ur application under the manual dexterity area or in ur personal statement?

definitely include it. in fact, right next to the space where it mentions manual dexterity, it even has car work as an example.

so just in that section though? what about in the personal statement?

well keep in mind that section only allows you to type 600 words. i just briefly described my manual dexterity activities. it just so happens that one of them really played a part in my decision to be a dentist. so i talked about it in my ps. your call though, really

I included that I liked to do car work- change my own oil, spark plugs, etc. One of my interviewers happened to like cars as well 🙂
