Something else to pass the time this week...which do you prefer? I myself am a fan of the oral b vitality electric brush.

Who has time to brush?! We're going to be dentists! How is that even an option?

Sonicare for me.

there aren't very many choices for the flexible ones here. i go both ways! yeah, baby. and when i go electric, i go sonicare.

Whoa, you're a rebel.
I was surprised to see so many electric brushes... have people given up on anything manual? seriously, how hard is it to move your hands back and forth.

Got everyone beat. Braun Oral-B 8850's my go-to brush. Out cleans all electric brushes.

My backup's the Sonicare Elite (3 different models), old school Braun oral-b Excel, and the ineffective, yellow-inducing Braun Oral-B sonic. I'm very tempted to buy the new Sonicare Flexcare. It's just so pretty of a brush.

I can use a manual toothbrush, but I can't move my hands at 8,800 revolutions per minute.

I use the brand new ULTREO. It uses ultrasound wavelengths just like the ultrasonic in for pre-sterilization!

Triumph > 8850

In actuality, electric toothbrushes give the same results as manual toothbrushes provided both are used properly...8,800 rpms or the speed of your hand, it all gets your teeth clean

Just be sure to floss daily 😛

$ of triumph > $ of 8850

Triumph=marketing gimmick.
8850=pure clean

Manual toothbrushes are more abrasive on your gums, and it's a means to having to see a Perio in the future. Of course, I wouldn't be surprised if Perios (or Perio hopefuls) recommend manual toothbrushes.

if you are thinking about buying a nice electric toothbrush.. Wait. chances are you will get a top of the line electric brush during yoru D1 year. we got Oral B Triumphs after our first micro exam 😀

jb!🙂

We got our Oral B Triumphs after about 3 weeks of class.
Not to mention all of the free toothpaste, floss, and manual toothbrushes.

brush just like i shave, manual.
why so many electrics? right, cause the first thing i want in the morning is to run electricity and water in my mouth👎.
back to the basics, you can never go wrong.

Manual and very old... old fashioned, all the way.

Forget Oral B, or Colgate. I highly suggest leatherstem or willow tree branches. The sap of the leatherstem constricts your gums, so if you ever find yourself outside with bloody gums, it's a neat trick. Willow branches also leave you with a slightly tingly clean feeling if you dip in a vat of boiled water with pine needles before brushing.

they give away all sorts of fancy free electric brushes at the ADA convention too- they had random giveaways for the Triumph at the last one

I kinda like manual as well. I really like the Oral-B Advantage Control Grip manual brush

Watch Survivorman or Man vs. Wild much? Or are you starting your own Dentist vs. Wild series? 🙂👍

Can I just say how much I love SDN...no matter what topic people post, some sort of discussion will be stirred up! Keeps me entertained at work.
