Yea, it was horrible- I made a 16. first time I took it last june I made a 19. This one was INCREDIBLY hard. reading was INSANE. No s&d whatsoever. Sciences were brutal and never seen. Did ferralis notes, did kaplan course. made around a 19- 21 on bootcamp practice tests.. Pat was a joke- I made a 22, but my god everything else..

Oh and I did destroyer once.. I did ADA test 2009 and made an overall 20. I'm not lying. I didn't have test anxiety, just an extremely hard test.

Sorry to hear that. I'm still a believer in Chad's videos and Destroyer for chemistry. If you watch the videos, take great notes, complete the quizzes, and do Destroyer twice then you should get a 20+. CDP and the LOS method should net a 18+ on the PAT. RC - practice reading scientific articles. Bio - Feralis' notes, Cliff's AP book and online resources should get you a 19+ on Bio. Again, sorry to hear about the results. Take some time off from the DAT, get the rest of your application ready, apply early, and then submit your DAT scores 6 months from now. Even if you submit them in September, you should be able to land interviews in the fall provided the rest of your application is solid.

I'm not trying to scare you. I'm just being real, which is the reason why I'm asking if anyone else has taken the test today. I'm being dead serious about mine being much harder then avg. The reading section literally was something I've never seen, it wasn't even tone questions.. it was an article about prions- and the questions were like...(not the same just something of this nature)
according to the prions hypothesis theory how would you interpret the following statement:
Mice are not affected by prions whatsoever because of there ability to "blah blah"
(There was nothing about this in the paragraph- however you should have a good understanding on the whole essay to understand what the prions hypothesis theory is to be able to decipher that what it is and how it wouldn't affect mice.
and then random explanations. and I had atleast 8 questions in the same format for this topic, and the other two were very bland topics and had similar type of interpretation questions. Oh, and science. ha ha. ha. ha. Biology wasn't THAT bad, like a few very straightforward questions about biomes, genetics, etc.. but then random blood pathway questions, and stuff that I didn't see in ferralis coming back. but honestly bio is random- but I did do destroyer once and ferralis once and bootcamp. Oh and I read ap cliffs and took topscore. Gen chem and orgo- weird interpretation questions. very weird, as in destroyer type weird. But I did destroyer it was just more in depth for some reason, I did have like 3 or 4 upfront questions that I knew without thinking, but the rest were different. for example orgo, I knew all the reactions verbatim to chad's, however, I got a Dibalh reaction- now in his reaction summary he had it, but not in the videos- so make sure you know that. but other then the I only had maybe 3 reactions, I had an nmr question and random stuff i don't remember.. i hope you guys don't get that test. Study hard, and you guys will do fine.. My first test wasn't hard- I just wasn't prepared, if I studied like I did for this test on last test- I would of killed it

yes, I took it the 3rd- I agree with the OP.. it.. well.. it was different. Biology I thought was straightforward, but chem and orgo were rough.. an the reading.. uh- 
math was easy tho..

and wow, I had no idea we would have similar tests, but I had that same reading type questions.. and I did really well in PAT lol.. lowest was reading.. then gen chem.. orgo.. bio..math from lowest to highest.

Google "sdn prion dat" and then hit the "see more results from sdn" under the first item on the list. You will see that quite a few people have had (and posted breakdowns for) this prion + genetic diseases + optic fibers reading section before! I am, of course, assuming that all tests with this reading section are the same (ie that different sections of different tests are not shuffled).
What's important to note is how variable and different the feedback is, both among the googled breakdowns but also with respect to the two test takers here. Although both test takers from this thread have mentioned that the math section was very easy, some of the googled sdn breakdowns said that math was their worst section! Conversely, while both test takers here talked about the randomness and difficulty of the science sections, others mentioned that it seemed relatively normal -- comparable to their practice tests. I hope that reading these other responses can alleviate some people's fears of a "super hard" test floating around. In addition, I hope the two test takers here are not at all discouraged! I think that it's important to understand that everyone has their own strengths and weaknesses going into the test. What version of the test we get isn't something we can control; all we can do is put up our best, most genuine effort and hope that things turn out well.

I had that RC section back in May, rest of test was normal, nothing out of the ordinary.

Eh... as they say, "beauty is in the eye of the beholder." Or, in this case, difficulty. A specific test may or may not play to your personal strengths, whereas it may play to the strengths of another.
For example, I thought the sciences on my test were cake. Others with my test, though, thought they were "random" and quite difficult.
I think that where luck comes in is not in the difficulty of the test--I bet they're all pretty similar in difficulty. I think that where it comes in is how well the test caters to your knowledge base.

I agree 100% with what you guys are saying- I didn't do horrible, I got a 19.. and thats around what I've been getting on avg of bootcamp and stuff.. To be honest, science wasn't THAT bad.. it was just the reading was a bit weird, from what I'm use to with qvault and bootcamp.. Will def need a retake.

I started studying Feb 10th, averaging 2.5 hours/day. I'm taking the DAT on the last Friday before my summer classes start (2 week break from finals). I'm studying bio everyday, one of G chem and ochem everyday (alternating days), PAT twice a week. Haven't gotten QR or RC yet as they are both strong subjects for me. DAT prep takes a backseat when I have an orgo or cell bio test to prepare for, although I just consider it an orgo intensive session. I take a break twice a week, not on consecutive days. I expect to be completely done with content review by April 1, and then 1.5 months of practice tests and problem sets. Fortunately, next week is my spring break, so it'll be a focused on DAT prep.
