They gave 120 interviews and eventually 79 acceptances.

Brian Trecek told us that the numbers went like this...........they need to take 3500+ apps down to 300 to invite down to 115 for the seats and alternate lists. He told me that they will accept 90-95 students for the 80 seats.
So on Dec 1, 95 people will get an acceptance to attend marquette even though they only have 80 seats. Brian said that they expect 15 or so to attend another school.
Good Luck
This all sounds about right. Are these numbers his projections for this admission cycle? The numbers I posted were the statistics I received from Marquette's "Update on dentistry" for 2004.
Sorry if this makes a false sense of hope for the many many of us who applied to Marquette -
At a mtg with Brian T. tonight, he said that though Marquette would like accept one large group on Dec. 1, there is a likelihood that there will be another smaller round of interviews for out-of-staters in January.
Also, he said that there should be some more interviews going out in the next weeks as they work through applications.
December 1st, about 110 people will be accepted. The "2nd rate" applicants will be put on hold for possible interviews in the spring. And everyone else will receive a rejection.
In other words... if you are a very qualified applicant -you still have a shot at an interview.
i don't get it. How do they send out spots for 110 but only have 80 spots open. Do the take back acceptances from those 30 ppl? confused😕
