Does anyone know if it's ok to send in the secondary without the scholarship essay...just to get things moving along...and then send the essay in later when u r finished, or will they not consider the secondary app complete until they have the essay?

thanks

Did they mail/email you the secondary or did you get it from their website?

Thanks

they mailed it to me about 2 weeks ago

When was your application sent out?

Thanks

Wait until you finish the essay. UF does the same thing however I didnt realize they required another essay so I sent the secondary in along with the fee. I got a phone call saying that I was missing the essay and the application wouldnt be processed/reviewed until it was completed as well. Hope this helps, and get on that secondary, Marquette doesnt require an interview, the sooner the better! Good luck!

Anyone going to MU let me know.

With any luck I will be there in 2007. I currently live just outside of Milwaukee (Wauwatosa) and went to Marquette for undergrad. If you have questions I would be happy to answer.

here's a question....for someone such as myself who has never been to marquette, what the heck should i talk about in my 1 page essay.....what do u think are some good points to mention....i have read the material they sent me and browsed their website as well...i still dont know how i'm going to come up with a good 1 page essay...btw, do u think that means 1 double spaced or single spaced? I'm from the midwest so the location of Marquette is def a plus but i cant write too much about that.

thanks

Wow, Im glad someone has finally mentioned this. I was wondering it myself, but I have been busy, so I havent been able to start a thread. But yeah exactly, I am from arizona, I dont know a whole lot about wisconsin or the midwest. "Uhh... I want to go to your school because its a dental school" It doesnt seem like I should write a one page essay telling them why I want to go their dental school, its not specifically Marquette I want, I just want IN. The 1 page essay seems over the top, and I was also wondering if they want it double spaced or single spaced. If someone could please shed some light on this...

i guess the best way to approach this is to take it upon yourself to learn as much about the school as possible and reflect on why you feel what they have to offer is what you want and why they should seriously consider you. 😀

yes, my secondary came in the packet they sent

If you look at the Marquette website it doesn't say anything about a secondary appliation.

Look in the back of the packet there should be a pocket.

And to everyone wondering about spacing, I have heard they like the essays triple spaced.

Well, you should all know this already. If you are serious about going to Marquette take some time and do your due diligence. Check the website, call the school. Find out what they are proud of and what they expect in a student, and then show how you are just like that. FYI Marquette is a Catholic Jesuit school. If you don't know what that is, google it. Also try to convince them that you would be okay living in Milwaukee for four years. Its a pretty great city filled with nice down to earth people, if you don't mind the cold. But hell, we are going to spend most of our free time in the simlab anyways.

I still would advise triple spacing...
