Have any Maryland residents gotten a secondary or interview yet? I need one bad

Ohhh my stats are pretty much the exact same as yours....this gives me hope!
got the secondary application on Fri, 9/10 and got the interview invite Mon, 9/13. good luck, all!
when is your interview?
jpark, i see you are attending maryland, do you have any idea the number of md residents applying and how many of them get interviews? how do you like the school? Thanks ahead of time!
I recently talked to people in admission committee and from what I heard, there were approximately 3,000 to 3,500 applicants per year. There are two interview sessions per week and about 20 to 25 applicants come per session. We start interviewing in the beginning of october so you can do the math. our class size is 130. The school has a cutting edge technology facility. I am sure you will love it. Good luck.
thanks for the useful info, but do you know approx. how many maryland residents are among those 3000-3500 who have applied? sorry to be annoying.
Hi Joon Park, how are you?

I've been waiting for someone to answer this, but it seems as though nobody really knows. So let me take a guess... according to the Maryland Higher Education Commission, there are ~13 four-year public colleges/universities in MD and ~28 four-year private colleges/universities. Out of these schools, you can eliminate 10 of them as they are trade schools and you typically wouldn't get a dental applicant from there IMO. So, that leaves roughly 31 schools in MD... Lets say on average you get 10 "legitimate/qualified" applicants from each school (now this estimate might be considered really high for some schools and really low for some of the big state schools, ie. college park... but to me it would balance out). Therefore, this would translate to ~310 applicants out of MD of which only ~68 will be admitted as MD is one of the few schools that is "extra" OOS friendly (just under 50%).
IMO, 310 applicants out of MD seems to be high, but who knows...
I know some of you may disagree with these numbers, but that's just my guess since nobody was able to address this. Hope it helps!

Based on that spreadsheet that has been circulating around, there were approximately 210 Maryland residents that applied in 2009, and 70 of them were accepted. That is pretty good if you ask me, 33% of the Maryland applicants getting accepted.

This is coming from ADEA admissions guide, last year ~210 MD in-staters applied to MD.
Lets imagine how of them didn't complete their application on time or didn't qualify for interview. I am kind a upset with high out-of-state acceptance. Why am I MD resident? No idea. I should be in NY or Cali.
Lets hope we both get in.😀
