Hey guys--I was just wondering if you could help me on this one as I am having a hard time deciding. Any pros/cons, comparisons, and reccomendations would be helpful!

Here's a question...I have heard a rumor that temple requires you to collect money (cash, etc) yourself from noninsurance patients, and if they dont deliver you must pay the differential to graduate. Is this in any way true? I can think of so many great things about both schools (Maryland and Temple) so any suggestions would be helpful too! Thanks!

Abludevil:

I was also accepted at both Maryland and Temple. Both are great schools. I chose Maryland for these reasons:

1. Cost-- the tuition is cheaper by nearly $10K at Maryland
2. Opportunity-- in addition to having a strong clinical program, UMB is also close to the NIH and Johns Hopkins. This could create good opportunities for research (which might help if you want to pursue a dental specialty later on).
3. Location-Baltimore is pretty close to other major cities: D.C., Philadelphia, New York, etc.

Equally as important as the above is the fact that I genuinely felt good about my Maryland visit. You can't go wrong with either school--both will give you a great dental education. Just list the things that are MOST important to you in a dental school and decide which school BEST fits what you are looking for. Good luck!
