Hi everyone,

I will be applying for the second time in the coming round. I was a bit slow with the application process and the schools did receive all the necessary documents for my profile till the end of September last year.

I had a chance to contact one of the schools I appiled to, asking for which category I should strengthen. The reply I received was that completing the masters program would greatly improve my profile.

"Anyways, your application is very strong, it’s just that the class is full.
One thing I noticed is that you are currently working on a Master’s? Completing the degree will make you much more competitive."

My defense is at the end of June, (projected at June 24th). AADSAS opens for application on June1. The biggest difference for the profile this year would be the completion of my MSc. program.

Q1:
-> Should I submit my appilcation after my defense, so I could indicate that the defense has been completed? Or would it be best to submit the application ASAP?

Q2:
-> Do US schools (some Canadian schools do) release the information to previous applicants how they can strengthen their profiles? or is this information confidential?

Thanks a bunch,

Personally, I would wait until after the defense because it'd all get done in one shot without having to update. Alternatively, you can probably send it and then update the app as soon as you have the degree. You'll have it all in sometime at the end of June or in early July either way. Finish as much as the application as you can as soon as it opens so that it'll be ready to submit.

Every school is required to let you know why you were rejected if you ask them. If you don't ask, they won't tell.
