Master in Healthcare Administration vs MPH

I can't decide which master program to apply to. I know with a MHA I can always fall back on it if med school doesn't work out, as far as income difference between MHA and MPH. But, I also want a master where my chances of obtaining a great graduate GPA to overshadow my average undergrad GPA. So my question is, how hard is it to get a great GPA >3.5 for MHA for a Biology major? I have asked this in the masters' forum but didn't get a reply so I'm trying it here since everyone congregates in this forum. Thanks for your opinions.

Anything is possible if you work hard. You need to work hard (smart) MHA is nothing like bio. Its more like MBA for Health care. A friend of mine was a bio major and he is now in med school not sure what his GPA was but I am sure it was good 'cause we used to study together.

I have my MPH so this is my advice for MPH.
1) If you want something with a non-scientific methodology pursue MHA but if you want something with a somewhat scientific methodology in its practice (depending on if you do epi or biostats vs others like international health or program promotion of course) go for public health. Personally, i love public health and come from a fam hx of people who are epidimeologists/ physicians and would want to do both after med school.

2) MHA pay is much better since there are few people with this degree. For physicians in this field some even earn more than practicing docs in clinical practice. Even without an md you can still earn well with this degree. IF you are looking for a fall back degree do this especially if you are not determined to go to med school. For public health starting salary with no experience in clinical research is so low you would be very disappointed but if it is something you love you would not care. If you had prior experience you might earn more, but not as much as a person with MHA!
