I have gotten rejection letters from 4 out of 13 schools I applied to.
I was/am not expecting to get into any dental school for this cycle mainly because of my low GPA.
my DAT score (AA/TS/PAT:19/19/21)
but my GPA is 3.0
I have a good ECs and did a research.

I have been experiencing serious depression for past couple of months because I dont know what I should do for next six months.
I will be graduating this month so, I will have six months to prepare until the next cycle.

I want to get into postbac programs like one at Creighton and SFSU/UoP linkage program that guarantee an acceptance to the dental school if you do well in the program, but they starts in summer. I want to stay busy and prepare for DAT for next six months by taking some classes.

I was thinking about applying for some master/post bacc program starting this spring term.

FIRST: should i do master or postbacc?
I have my BS in biochem. master would have diff. GPA but postbacc would be good review for my DAT

SECOND: do master at barry or get certificate in biochem or public health?

I know Barry is still accepting students for the spring semester, but the tuition is the problem for me.so I was researching some programs in my hometown, and found this graduate certificate program in either Biochemistry & Molecular Biology or Public Health. classes are what you would take for the master, and I could possibly carry those credits to get master. my only concern is that the school doesnt have a dental school on its own nor the linkage program.

Third: should I get into a either dental assisting or hygiene program at cc?

I cant make a decision 🙁 please help and thank you in advance!

I am a Biochem major too! I recommend calling the schools that you want to get into and asking them for their advice. Actually, you should call and talk to the dean of student affairs and admissions because they know what they are looking for. They can give you the best assessment. I would recommend doing a masters since your DAT scores seem to be pretty good. A 3.5 and above with those scores should give you a pretty good chance at getting into a dental school.
Have you checked out Tufts Master in Biomedical Science program? If you graduate in the top 25% in the program you get a guaranteed interview. Check it out.

Good luck😀
