Hi everyone,

I'm just wondering if any of you completed a masters prior to being accepted into dental school?

If so: (a) what/where did you do your masters in? (b) why did you consider pursuing a masters?

Thanks!

Yep. MPH @ Columbia. I got tired of working crappy jobs (I was a philosophy major!), thought I wanted to do medicine, and realized I had to get back into school before I ended up in a crappy job for the rest of my life.

I did a master's at UMDNJ in Biomedical Sciences. Honestly I chose to do it because I didn't get into dental school the first cycle and I wanted to strengthen my application and bring up my GPA. I have no question that my program helped me get into dental school and I also learned a lot of things that will only help me going forward.

I got my MS in Chemistry, i was working towards my PhD but decided to leave, and go to dental school. I was good at chemistry so i kept going but end the end switched to dentistry.

1) MS in biomedical science accelerated 10 month program at Barry university
2) bc I chose dentisty my senior year of undergrad and needed a higher science gpa. Also gave me an advantage over other applicants
