Has anybody heard about Masters programs where you go to the dental school after you get your masters? I would appreciate if anyone knows anything about this...I heard VCU has one. thanks

Uh, i dont really know of anything that will get you a spot reserved after the masters program.

But there are a few options, none that are open anymore, but in case you were wondering for next year. I have a bunch of friends that had to go through this process and I am going through it myself. I'm just not sure which program to do.

There are tons of 1 year masters programs out there made to enhance your gpa, scence gpa especially, and prepare you for professional school.

Midwestern University Arizona has one
so does Loyola University, Roslyn Franklin, Indiani U.

Rush University has a 1 year biotechnology program.
5 of my friends did it last year, they're all in DO school now.

I'm sure there are others.

I'm not sure this is exactly what VCU has. Your chances may be increased if you do well in an MS program through VCU, but what VCU has is a D.5 program.

You get into dental school if you pass 4-5 dental school science courses (each with a B or better) in a year. It is essentially a 5 year DDS program where you don't earn a Masters degree, but if you do well enough you get into the D-1 class the following year.

If any of your grades are under a B, you are kicked out of the program and can never be admitted into VCU Dental.

I know someone who went into an MS program at VCU, then the following year was accepted into the D.5 program and will be a D-1 next year.
