For those of you who have been through the residency matching process:

I am already in the middle of a master's program, but have also been accepted into medical school. I am going to finish the program for my own good, but need to know if my GPA will ever show up anywhere ever. When applying for residency matching, is there anywhere that I will be required to list my master's GPA or do I simply list the degree?

Thanks!!

I've heard that some specialties require college transcripts (SF Match programs like Ophtho), but for most other specialties (Derm, FP, EM, Rads, Ortho, GS, Peds, OB/GYN, etc.) your master's g.p.a. should be your "little secret."

Thanks, bigfrank! So, for most residencies, you don't have to list the GPA, but you still can list that you've completed your masters?
Just want to make sure that I've got that right --

Thanks again!

Nobody every even mentioned my master's gpa. Just having a master's in biochemistry seemed like a big positive. I matched at the University of Michigan so it definitely didn't hurt.

Wow!! Congratulations, Furrball, for matching at UofM! That was my undergrad -- great school and a great little town! What did you match in? Best of luck -
Thanks for the response re: gpa, good to hear -- i'll be working my arse off for another, well, 60 years, so it's good to know i won't have to kill myself this semester as well!
