I was wondering if it's necessary to get a masters in business if planning on opening up your own dentistry practice. Also, would you need to major or minor, if any at all, in business to get your masters while going to dental school?

Definitely not necessary. I think less than 1% of dentists have a masters degree in business. There are plenty of CE courses on practice management, however, that are very popular.

jb!🙂

do you have a business sense? Are you good with money management? What is necessary for one person is not necessary for another.

Personally I wouldn't bother with it.

As far as I know, it's easier to hire someone to handle the business aspect of your practice, rather than dealing with it yourself. Think about it, wouldn't you rather have an office manager handle the books so you can just focus on being a good dentist? This seems to be the way to go.
