I am interested to do a master's program in clinical mental health counseling online. I have shortlisted few schools, but I would like to narrow it down further.

1. Nova Southeastern
2. Wake Forest
3.Liberty Online
4.University of the Cumberland's

Any advice out there? If you know more about these schools, please give me your thoughts.

My advice would be to not do a master's program in mental health counseling online. What appeals to you about those programs? What type of field experiences/internships will they allow you to do? How big are the class sizes? What do you know about the licensure rates and job attainment of graduates of those programs, especially those who live in your state/city? How do the costs differ between programs?

Has anyone else heard of 85% being considered a failing grade in grad school? My program states 83-85% (and obviously anything under that) is unacceptable.

Yes, your program can determine what is/isn't failing at the graduate level and this is common.

In mine, a 79 or below was equivalent of an F.

Yep. I don't remember my program's specific score ranges, but it's very common (i.e., nearly universal) for anything under a B to be considered a fail in graduate education. Which is one reason why grad school GPAs seem inflated and aren't particularly useful in most instances for reviewing applications.

I would look into schools that offer classes online if anything. Lynn University for example isn't a fully online program although you can take all the classes online. Other schools (though I'm unfamiliar) should offer something similar. Nova is also incredibly overpriced IMO.
