I'd like to enter a Master's Program before medical school because there's a couple of fields I'm interested in doing research for.

I went to an expensive private UG so I can't do that again for a master's. However, I hear that some city schools (I live in NYC) grade harshly and it would not look good at all if I performed mediocre before I apply to med schools.

Is there a compendium or any type of pre-med community that can give me an inside-look at the way different schools grade from a pre-med's perspective?

A friend of mine told me that Hunter City College grades harshly, and NYU grades fairly in that they reward hard work and he was able to get a 4.0.

My UG major was biochem. I'm thinking of doing a master's in either biochem, or physics.

Thoughts?
