I am currently applying to masters programs to enhance my chances of getting into dental school. Does anybody know of any good pre-dental masters? I was also thinking about a post-bac program. My top two choices are Boston University for a Masters in Medical Sciences or a post-bac at UPENN. What do you guys think?

does anyone have a link to that program? I cant seem to find it.

google it, its there.
BU one is good (curriculum with DS courses), but the program is expensive. and thesis is required.

How about some good non-thesis masters programs? I know Midwestern has their Biomedical Sciences Masters Program without a thesis.

I didnt get in the first time around (things are tougher up here in Canada) but I am now finishing up a MSc. Degree in Dentistry at the University of Toronto. Basically I do research in the dental field. I am applying for sept 2009 and have about 5 interviews so far, so I think the schools like the looks of my MSc. in Dentistry, maybe there is something like that at schools in the states??

umdnj has a good one, thesis or non-thesis based.
i believe barry and nova have similar programs, but i dont know anything about them.

hm... for some reason, I always thought DDS is required for MSc in dentistry, I guess UofT is the only school with such programs

I did the master's program at BU and I was happy with it. I was actually very fortunate to get a job at the BU Dental School while I finished my thesis. I got a lot of dental experience and made some good connections. Hopefully it will help me get in to a school next year.🙂

Im doing my masters too. they really like it a lot. it shows that you are prepared for dental school especially if ur undergrad grades arent as high as you want them to be

Do you know the requirements for the Boston Program? I e-mailed one of the ladies up there, I forget her name, but she said the program is very competitive to get into. I was just curious if anybody knew what they were looking for.
Thanks!
