Hi all!

I had a question about if I should do a masters or not. My GPA is LOW, like 2.7 low. Had a lot going on but currently much better than I was. Currently, I'm starting a second bachelors program and plan to graduate Fall 2022/Spring 2023. My choices are to apply to vet school Fall 2022 and apply to the masters as well just in case and then apply again to vet school Fall 2023, not sure if this looks bad though as the masters is thru the vet school. My other option is I have a decent bit of electives to take and I am allowed to take graduate courses as I already have a bachelors, so I could just take those graduate courses and not have to do the masters. My fear is not getting into vet school, already taken the masters courses and then I wouldn't know what to do to raise my GPA more in the year till I apply again.

Cross that bridge when you get to it. Focus on your classes and do well to bring up your cGPA and apply with a solid last 45. Pretty sure you know my story but I had a similar cGPA coming out of undergrad and with a couple years hard work and As I was able to bring my cGPA up to a 3.0 so I could apply to more schools. Having a strong last 45 also helped tremendously. Apply with the strongest application you can muster and take advantage of file reviews if you’re not accepted anywhere. I personally wouldn’t spend the money on a masters unless it’s in an interesting field to you (ie you would use the degree if not accepted to vet school) or you’re rejected by vet school adcoms and they recommend you pursue a masters.

I love this, you give me hope! I guess I worry applying fall 2022 since they'll then only see my fall 2021, spring 2022, & summer 2022 and maybe fall 2022 but it'll be after the application
