if ccom students have the best rotation sites which yields to better residency placements then why do more students from DMU match into the competitive specialties(Anesthesiology, EM, Surgery) compared to ccom students? its not by much but it is a noticeable difference.

Also lets say I couldn't get into a known surgical residency and but I got into some unknown rural area surgical residency. What implications will that have? Will I be significantly disadvantaged when looking for jobs?

IMO you can't judge a match based on much of anything that is visible on the list... How many people wanted to go into those specialties you're looking at and simply couldn't get in? Were those their top picks? Did students not apply to the "well known" residency because they wanted to do their residency closer to family in x state or wanted to do residency closer to where they hope to work for their career? All of these factors you cannot know off of a list of names, specialties, and locations.

More of my opinion, just because you haven't heard of the residency, doesn't mean it's not "known" to others within the profession.

Bingo. If you had aggregate match data over a number of years, you might be able do this kind of comparison, but year-to-year, you'll have variations completely attributable to student interest.

Someone might have the numbers to match integrated plastics, but chooses to do family medicine. That family medicine match shouldn't be held against the school.

It's my understanding that you'll have no trouble finding community jobs as long as you become board certified, which you can do from any residency. A big name residency becomes more important when you're trying to land an academic job.

I believe that a big name residency is also important for those interested in a fellowship

Dmu's list looks significantly betterl.
