I'm a pretty calm person...I deal with stressful situations fairly well, but I got 2 hrs of sleep last night because I had two nightmares about the match. The first one was that I didn't certify my ROL (even though I know I did and I triple checked since deadlines). I woke up, half asleep thinking to myself, "Oh $H1T!!!! I forgot to certify!" I was totally tachy too, but then realized it was a dream. :scared:calmed myself down a little  and then fell asleep 😴 However, I had another F'ing nightmare about march 18th. I knew I had matched, but when I went to go check to see where I finally got into, the stupid NRMP website wouldn't let me check. I kept clicking over and over and over again on the link :scared::scared::scared: that would tell me where I would be for the next 4 years of my life, but the NRMP website just wouldn't let me see it. I woke up from this at like 4 AM, and didn't go back to sleep. 😱😱😱 I guess one can suppress anxiety and stress as much as they want, but it will rear it's ugly head in one form or another. Unfortunately, mine was with a sleep deficit. Time to take a nap 😴

I had mine before the ROL deadline. I saw that its nearing the deadline, with 2 hours left and my internet is not working, so I call a friend to request her to certify my ROL. Turns out she didn't put my top 3 in my list at all and messed up the rest. I woke up sobbing with a soaked pillow.

Try distractions like focusing and arguing about what Obama is doing wrong or how helpless the guy is or to engage in something productive. Hockey worked for me really well till the season was on.

I think everyone has had nightmares about Step 2CS and Match Day. We will get through this... sit tight for now!

Starting Sunday at 6pm Eastern I will distract myself with lots and lots of brackets!!!!

Damn... I guess my dream wasn't as bad if I didn't wake up crying. Yeah, I think I just need to do something to make myself sleep better  Like a 6 pack a night until march 18th :luck:

If it's any consolation, the nightmares continue after the match is over. I matched already, and now I've had quite vivid dreams. The latest was that the zoo people wouldn't let me leave and they messed with my car so I couldn't leave. So then I stole one of the zoo people's shoes because they took mine. Their shoes were so valuable to them they let me go and fixed my car just to get them back.

Figured you could all use a laugh outside the match. Somehow didn't have dreams about it all prior to my match (osteo). Maybe I'm just neurotic. 😉

I had a dream last night that all throughout interview season I was getting post-interview feedback from programs that consisted of messages like "We regret to inform you that you will not be ranked on our match list." or "Due to the large volume of highly qualified applicants we have determined that there is no need to include you on our rank list." In my dream, the only positive feedback I had going into match day was from a residency program in Canada that sent me a letter along with two bottles of honey telling me that I was ranked to match.

I can't really categorize this as a nightmare, cause I really like honey...and I don't think that Canada would be all that bad of a place to live for awhile, but just wanted to share my very own match-anxiety induced dream. Good luck everyone!

Not so much a nightmare but a preminition. Im a big roller coaster fan and visit parks multiple times a year. I had a dream I was at Cedar Point (my current home park) and was pushing everyone I was with to stay till closing because I would not be visiting it for a long time. If that was true then Im not matching at #3, 6, 7, 16 or 17 (my last two picks) as well as not scrambling into a prelim spot at my home program (which would be quite likely if I needed to scramble) as I would be frequenting that park quite a bit if I was within 3 hours of it.

Anyone else have a preminition type dream?

Or maybe it just means that you'll be in residency, so you won't have TIME to visit an amusement park. Doesn't necessarily mean you won't be in town.

Not really, we do still have these things called days off (not to mention outpatient months,) and I would go. I realize Im not normal but going to those places is a required stress release.

Fine, whatever, I agree you're screwed. Serves me right for trying to offer a positive perspective on your irrationally negative catastrophizing.

Read my post again, its not negative. Infact I hope its true as it makes it highly unlikely that I matched into my bottom two choices or would have to scramble.

Obviously I didn't even read it carefully the first time, what makes you think I'll reread it carefully?

Its really not that hard to come up with smart aleck putdown responses but in the end they add nothing to the discussion.

Im sorry for assuming that someone who responded to my post acutally read it before commenting on it, silly me, he just read enough so that he could come up with a consending repsonse.

Whoa.... how did this thread get way off topic??? 😱

I don't know, I really didn't bother to read the posts very carefully, but from what I can tell somebody came on this thread and said some things then somebody else said some other things and then it went back and forth like that for awhile...
