NYMC/ Westchester Medical Center!

Excellent variety of pathology, and a program director with a strong reputation in the field. Close proximity to NYC but don't need to deal with the hectic city life day in and day out! Overall, I am a happy fourth year medical student.

whew.

couples match worked...
ucsf for anesthesia and rad onc.

Successful couples match at MUSC!!! (Anesthesiology and Peds)

Our 2nd choice, but my wife's 1st, so we're extremely happy to be moving to sunny Charleston, SC.

My 1st choice didn't fill, so I guess they didn't rank me at all. I've come to this conclusion due to a survey question my wife received today asking "Where did you match and why did you rank them higher than V#$%^^&@#?"

So in some cases (mine), post-interview response means nothing

I am very thankful to have landed my first choice program. I will going to Dartmouth Univ to learn gas. My wife & I are ecstatic to be getting out of Sagnasty, MI & moving to gorgeous New England!!

Go blue!

Got my #1!

I'm proud to be...
A Michigan Wol-ver-ine...

As a fellow USIMG I fully understand the mind-F that the programs put is through. My #2 really I really led me on. Went to my my #3 U. Florida - I think we met at the interview. If I'm correct I remember you talking highly of MUSC. Charleston is a great town.

Good luck at MUSC,

LongSnow

(PS)- AND THIS IS WHAT I THINK OF THIS #%$#! ERAS/NRMP SYSTEM OF INHUMANE TORTURE....LIKE THE EARLY E-MAIL TALKING ABOUT HOW TO USE THE SCRAMBLE THAT CAUSED THE PARA SYMPATHETIC OVERDRIVE SOILING MY DRAWS!

St. Luke's/Roosevelt to be exact. Anybody else headed there? I'm coming from Dallas and am psyched to be headed to NYC, but don't know what to expect from this program. Any thoughts?

Hey tell me about the program how did you feel about it. I interviewed there but walked away really unsure about where I stood with them. Residents were the coolest that I met all real easy going and friendly but they all said they were pretty overworked.

Yeah, that was my impression, too. I probably would not have even ranked it third if I was not so set on going to New York. I'm not sure why they felt so overworked, though. They work 12 hour days, but the call schedule sounds reasonable, and they sleep a lot on call. Maybe the lack of CRNA backup creates more busywork than some programs have and no one to take over when a case is going late.

The PD seemed very cool and comitted to resident education. He is a former chair at RWJ in Jersey. Roosevelt Hospital is really nice, in a great part of town. I imagine St. Lukes is a little different, but I think it's important to train on more than one pateint population. I guess I'll find out why the residents were tired when I get there.

Still waiting to hear from my future colleagues...

Regards,
Marley
