I really don't think it's a violation of match rules, since it's not stated anywhere that we can't have contact with programs before the 27th......

Glad to see people seem to be getting their top choices. Just got the call from my med school saying that I got my #1--I'll be staying put here in Minnesota. Also, big ups to you GopherBrain on UCSF...think we may be at the same med school, but wouldn't want to violate privacy or anything... andf congrats to everyone who survived the match process!

Wow, I too am really pleased to see that so many of us are matching at our top choices.... I'm very relieved this is all over... I can finally stop taking that ambien at night <wink>...

PS After waiting until 9 am PST for a call, I contacted my supposedly well-run good-rep US med school. I almost dropped the phone when the relevant staffer said "Oh, is the match today?" 😡

I was simply posting my results, and have no shame in stating my top choice which I did not match at.
I spoke to the person I know at Utah, and they truly tailor their list to people who want to be there, and have strong draws (i.e. significant others, etc.).
I am happy going to UCSF, don't get me wrong, it's a great place, but I would have preferred Utah for personal reasons.
Questionable interview?? It is apparent that all those individuals who claimed to be "upstanding, nice guys" are now showing their true colors. Thanks folks, thanks a heap. 👎

How can someone prefer Utah to Sf "for personal reasons"?? Aren't there enough retrograde conservative red-neck nazis in this country (in places such as Utah)? Go to SF man, this country needs more liberals and more tolerant people (please note, I did not say-more gays)...

you obviously have never been to Utah, fusiform, and therefore cannot appreciate the beauty and culture of the state and all that it has to offer.

Utah is awesome -- best skiing in the world, outdoor activities year round, people are NICE, mountains are beautiful.
