I dunno, it seems weird to me, that's why I posted it, but here it is

Specifically says "outside the match position available", for PGY1 starting July 2012. Maybe the program didn't want to deal with the SOAP process. If that's the case it seems like it should be some kind of match violation. It's most certainly against the spirit of SOAP.

I suspect they need an additional person from what they are seeking through the Match. Programs have to finalize the number of slots by the end of January. Thus, if something occurred after Jan 31 that resulted in them needing an additional PGY1, the would have to go outside of the Match to find a person.
