Hi Yall
my dean just told me the SF Match didnt fax him any information this morning...I thought he meant that I didnt match, but he told me that he would receive a fax saying even if I didnt match

has anyone (or their dean's office) heard anything yet?

my deans office just sent all of us at my school an email saying they didn't get a fax from the sf match yet either - weird cause they said they usually get it late the night before

this sucks
i've been awake for hours
and now i have to wait for the west coast to wake up

apparently one of my classmates found out he matched from the program director.

so the programs got the faxes....... just maybe not the deans offices......

the sfmatch website says that only programs are emailed results today and they will send via snail mail the results to dean's offices and us tomorrow. Also we can call them tomorrow. This waiting around blows - don't know how I'm supposed to go into work today without hearing anything

so, i called yesterday and asked, and the sf match emailed those who did not match last night, and should fax results to both the deans office and programs today.
so, those of you who did not receive emails last night can breathe a little easier 🙂

I guess the dean's offices haven't got any list yet. I called my home department and asked what was going on and they told me I matched, 🙂 but not with them and said they wouldn't tell me where. 👎 The department where we matched will hopefully give us a call sometime today. Now the wait (at least it is a good excuse to be late for clinic). Good luck to all.

My program director called me about an hour or more ago and let me know that I matched!!!!!

I'm so RELIEVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Got in my top 3, and I would have been ecstatic about matching anywhere in my top 5!!!!!

I got a call from my PD exactly 7.30 this morning! It was great as i just woke up from a nightmare i was having about not matching!🙂

Do not get discouraged, as there are many routes to pursue a career in this great profession.

One of those pathways is through research.

Thus, I wanted to drop a post here for anyone interested in a postdoc fellowship (after med school, between internship and ophtho or after ophtho) in a highly prolific retina lab working to dissect multiple molecular mechanisms of ocular angiogenesis. This fellowship serves as an excellent transition from a prelim surgery or medicine internship to ophtho. It also provides the necessary experience/CV to pursue a career as an ophthalmologist-surgeon-scientist. .

What a day. What a mix up with my deans office. I guess someone else go the email with the list of results and never passed it on to the dean. In any case, happy to discover that I matched. PD later called around 1pm. I was still hesitant of my dean's answer till I did get the PD call, but sure enough it came. Good luck to the rest of you.

I heard earlier this morning from my PD, but at 3 pm eastern my dean called. She said that she was expecting the fax to be there when she got in this morning, but the fax didn't get there until 3ish. She said something like SF match's fax machines were down. I hope that no one has to wait too much longer. Its excruciating.

Matched! Got the call from the PD around 11am.

Today seems so surreal. After countless text messages and congratulatory phone calls the reality that I will be an ophthalmologist one day is slowly sinking in. Man what a feeling! 😀
