Congrats!
Anyone reading this who didn't match...keep your head up, and try to stay as positive as possible!
I can't wait to find out later this week the first years I'll be tormenting, err I mean working with when I'm a third year.
In all seriousness though, grats again to all who matched!

Should we start a match poll/stats thread to give ppl a sense of the stats this year for the derm match ... i've seen some in the past (ppl would list their board scores, school tier, # of interviews, etc.)

How do you know you match into Dermatology? How does it work exactly? You have to apply for an internship and Derm, so how do you know? Does it tell you you matched in both? Theoretically if you placed just matching into a prelim as like your 15th choice, could it be you matched in that? And please post stats for those that matched!
Actually, it's not that hard. Derm is an advanced program and requires an intern year in internal medicine, surgery, or pediatrics (or Transitional Year). You apply to and interview for both programs during the same interview season (unless you are a reapplicant). Every time you rank an advanced program, a sub-menu pops up for you to make a supplemental rank list of PGY-1 programs that you interviewed at. You can have one Supplemental ROL or multiple ones, but only one list can be attached to an advanced program. You can also rank the PGY-1 programs on your main rank list.
If you match into only a PGY-1 program, you will get "Congratulations, you have matched into a one-year program!"
If you matched into an advanced only program (i.e. Derm, but no PGY-1), then you get "Congratulations, you have matched into an advanced position but not a first year position!"
If you matched to both, you get "Congratulations, you have matched!"

This would be very helpful. I've noticed that the Derm forum is generally not really that busy 🙁 however posting stats would definitely help those like me who are aspiring dermatologists!
