so besides maternal cytoplasm and mitochondria...is there anything else that the mother contributes...what about the other organelles?

The mother provides everything outside of the nucleus is what I can remember. The sperm just provides the other half of the equation for the nucleus.
 
kaustikos is right, besides the haploid nucleus the sperm does not contribute anything to the zygote. All the organelles are provided by the mother. Although, I remember from embryology class that the fathers dna makes sure that the placenta is large enough for the fetus to survive.
