Do a search for these questions, people seem to post the same ones over and over again.

You want 1 boy out of 3 children so there are (3 choose 1) = 3!/2!1! = 3 ways to select the child that is a boy. There's a 50% chance of having a boy so your answer is 3 * (1/2)^1 * (1/2)^2 = 3/8.
