on second exam q#15

if G(F(x))=x2-3 and G(X)=x-3 find f(3).

I know it's an easy problem but for some reason cant figure, how I used to solve the problem, if some one can show me I should do it I really appreciated!

If Gx=x-3 then you have to substute Fx into Gx to get x2-3. Therefore you see you substuted x2 for x. That means Fx is x2.

So F(3) is 3^2 is 9
