(2^18 - 2^14) / 2^14 = 15?

how do you solve this?
I understand 2^18 - 2^14 = 2^4 but I dont get the rest.

2^18-2^14 does not equal 2^4.

Break it up into (2^18/2^14) - (2^14/2^14) = 2^4 - 2^0 = 16-1=15.

You may want to review your exponent and log properties.

I just finished test 7 yesterday, so these questions are pretty fresh in my mind.

is the same as

(2^18/2^14) - (2^14 / 2^14)

you can then simplify to become

2^4 - 1

simplify some more you get

16-1 which is 15.
