Hello,

Firstly, let me tell you the good news... MATH destroyer = OVERKILL! especially if you are not familiar with math. Now... Chad`s videos lack intensity. They give you the general idea and the basics, but you need to put those skills to practice, preferably with something less difficult in the beginning.

I would start by doing Kaplan`s problems or any online problems you can find... here is a good website with some goods resources: http://www.testprepreview.com/dat_practice.htm

When you feel comfortable with those then I would start the Destroyer.
Even after that you must keep in mind that the Orgoman purposely made this book to "DESTROY" you. DOnt feel down when you cant understand a problem.
Keep ya head up and you will do fine!

P.S.: MATH = Practice and practice and practice. Only way!

You can do it! I haven't taken math in 8 years, but with enough practice it all comes back. Destroyer is hard, but necessary. Better to over prepare!

It is very difficult to predict what questions you might see. If you ask me, I would rather know it all and do harder problems, but then be certain that I am ready for anything that comes my way during the exam.
You can do easy problems and gain more confidence that way. Hopefully it will work out and you will not encounter harder questions on the test.

Hey how are you studying for Math? and are you getting results?

Math Destroyer and Khan Academy/random math books in the library to fill in the gap. I also use the book from my stats class I took, but that has been mostly useless. I'm averaging 30/40 through 11 tests in the Destroyer, and averaging 20s in DAT boot camp. Both resources are generally considered to be harder than the actual exam so I am hoping for a 20 in the QR, but will actually be ecstatic with anything above a 17. From what the grading I've seen, you can miss quite a few questions and still make a decent score, similar to PAT. It's hard, but its doable and I'm not going to kill myself over it.

if QR in the real thing will be as hard as math destroyer is then I am not going to get into dental school 🙁

Neither am I....because math destroyer is holding me back from retaking the exam again. I didn't do so well on math last time that's why I'm retaking it and if it's the same as math destroyer I'm screwed once again.

Would you say Khan academy (math section ) > Chads videos (math section)?

I just wrote the DAT last week, and I got a 24 on the QR section. I started off doing Kaplan tests and was doing TERRIBLE on them. I then moved on to the math destroyer and was slowly improving on them. Once I had mastered these, I moved on to do the QR sections of the first three achiever exams. I would say that this was sufficient practice. The Kaplan tests were not representative of the QR section. There were definitely some of the same concepts from the math destroyer on the QR section (but of course the destroyer was harder).

Did you get a lot of trig functions, and identities?? I hate those!

what do you guys think about chad's quizzes in terms of comparing them to the real QR? I seem to be doing fine on those but I don't know what it is about the math destroyer that makes me want to cry every time i open it

Lemme tell you. Look at Math Destroyer and make sure you know how to do the questions. Honestly 30/40 of those questions were on my DAT yesterday, but in an easier version.

DAT QR isn't as hard as Math Destroyer, but if you know Destroyer, you are going to ACE it on the real DAT!

same here. Heck, I can do the math in the QR section of DAT Destroyer, but Math Destroyer just kills me every time

I wouldn't knock DAT destroyer math section, it is more representative of the real thing. You need to the know a lot of basic things, I struggle with math the most out of all the sections. Look over the basics basics basics and more basics, and then do math destroyer last.

Ehh... I hate math. Always have 🙁 but what can we do.. Just practice and of course hope for the best! I know my basics from Chad but they dont seem tp help me much when i tackle the destroyer

I took that free bootcamp test for QR today and got a 17.. Ran out of time but made sure to choose answers for all q's that didn't have time to do .. Oh boy 🙁

It's all good, I made a 16 on QR for bootcamp. I am same boat, I haven't started on math destroyer or any math reviews yet.

It is just timing, the questions are not honestly that bad. If you are bad at time, I would just skip the questions that will make you run out of time. Then go back and do them if you have time.
