If the mass of an ion in the mass spectrometer described in the passage were doubled, then the radius of its deflection path would:

the 2 eqn's are:

exam_3_physci_pass_4_eq_2.gif

therefore r = m/qB (sq root 2qB/m)

A: aq root of 2

I can get this answer if I plug in 2 then plug in 4 for m and compare the results of r, but is there a faster way?
