This question is from the sample test on ADA website:
Q35. What is the maximum number of 3-inch squares (squares that are three inches on a side) that can be cut from a sheet of tin 19 x 23 inches?
A. 42
B. 48
C. 49
D. 145
E. 146

The right answer is A, which i really don't get, shouldn't it be (19x23)/(3x3)=48.6, thus B? Could it be a mistake? Thank you so much

NO, ADA is correct, on the 19 inch side, you can make a max of 6 cuts (6x3 = 18) on the 23 inch side, you can make 7 cuts (7x3=21).
6x7=42.
If you take a 19x23 board and cut it, you'll find you can cut a max of 42 whole pieces 😀

thank u so much for ur help wantVCUdental, the funny thing is i always do these kinda questions this way and always get them rite, now i have to rethink everything again....
how did u think of the exam though Impulse155? i thought it was way too easy compare to TS or Achiever or Kaplan, it is an exam from almost 10 years ago after all, i doubt the real DAT now is this easy.

I ony took the chem and the math part, and I am only hoping that the real DAT is that easy. I got like 3-4 questions wrong on each part. I also havent started studying for the DAT so I dont know if it was easier or not. If you have taking Kaplan, or anything did you think it was easier than their practice?

The 2007 sample test from ADA is so far the easiest prep test i took, personally i like Kaplan the best, Achiever is too hard, don't really like Topscore.
