1) The entrance tickets to a museum are $9 for each adult, $6 for a retiree, and $2.50 per child under 12. What would be the minimum gross income generated from the sale of child tickets, on the day when the total amount of money received was $210 and 15 adult tickets had been sold?
2) Each DVD movie on sale is either $9 or $4 off its original retail price. If the total amount of discount shown on a receipt had been $106, what would have been the maximum number of $9-discounted-DVDs selected off the shelves by the receipt holder?
The answers were tables of numbers to guess, but how do you know which numbers to guess? Do you know of a better way?
Thanks 🙂
