I hate them too. I'm having trouble finishing the math section on time. Word problems take the most time so they're annoying.

i used to not finish the topscore math sections as well. But, before I took the second mock test, I took out an SAT book and did a bunch of math problems while trying to increase my speed. Eventually I was able to finish with time to spare. Hence, I got a 24 QR score on the second mock test compared to a 19 on the first.

In addition to word problems, I came across Math Problems that asked about RATE, and Percentage annual and all that stuff. I think there are equations for this, like I = Prt or something (I'm not sure). For those of you that have taken the test, did you see these questions? Thanks.

And how good is Kaplan to prepare you for the Math Section?
