Hey, does anyone know about matriculating without actually graduating with your Masters degree or any input as to how DO schools look at graduate studies. I am currently in graduate school and i wont be graduating up until August/Sept 2013, although i will have all my experiments done by April. However, i believe MSU classes start in June/July 2013. SO, my question is ...as long as i meet all the pre-req courses for MSU, i should be good to matriculate regardless of my transcript reflecting my graduation with masters degree or not?

I would love to have my masters degree before i matriculate but things can get iffy with defense, write up etc...

Your Master's is not a pre-req for attendance, so unless your acceptance letter states "pending graduation from your Masters program" which it won't you are fine.

I'd probably try to find a way to finish just because you spent the time/$$ but it won't impact medical school.

I am not sure about which schools require you to finish your masters but I do know that DO schools like it. I just graduated with my Masters and I am getting more attention then I did last year. I also had a low uGPA so yea. You should see if you could transfer credits back from med school to get a non-thesis Masters. I don't know if you have that option but UMDNJ did.

Thanks everyone. I am alredy in MSU so was just wondering if my masters will impact my matricualtion, and byt the looks of it it doesnt. I will chek with MSU during open house though. And i would love to finsih my masters, just might take me a little bit longer as i might have to come back during break to defend.
