I have typed my personal statement on both "Word" and "Notepad." Both of them tell me that I am at 4,495 words. This is not exceeding the 4500 Characters allowed. The personal statement is including spaces. Does anyone know what to do about this?

the only way to fix that is to continue trimming down the PS. I would even suggest just putting one space after every period. that should significantly reduce the character count and allow for any discrepencies between the Word format and the AACOMAS application.

I had the exact same problem. I had to just trim a little here and there, and keep trying to submit it. I was at about the same character count as you on word, and I think that I had to cut about 20 characters or so, to get them to accept it. I had already done the single space after each sentence.

Unfortunately, you just have to keep cutting it down.

its because the new paragraph counts as 2 characters, and in word it doesnt.
