I tried doing a search for may 15 or may 15th but nothing really relevant came up, so I apologize if this comes up alot.
I read the AAMC website and saw this:
"By May 15 of the matriculation year (April 15 for schools whose first day of class is on or before July 30), April 30 for MD-PhD programs, each applicant who has received an offer of acceptance from more than one school or program choose the specific school or program at which the applicant prefers to enroll and withdraw his or her application, by written correspondence delivered by regular or electronic methods, from all other schools or programs from which acceptance offers have been received."
So on May 15th, I have email or call schools and withdraw my acceptance if I don't plan on matriculating there? Is this an absolute deadline or do schools have individual deadlines? What about schools I'm waitlisted for?
I'm just curious because I just got a final decision at UIC, which will arrive in the mail shortly. If I am accepted, my matriculating depends on the campus placement, which may or may not arrive by the May 15th deadline.
Any help would be appreciated.
edit: Disclaimer: I'm not a d-bag hoarding lots of acceptances for no good reason. My family situation would really benefit from me staying nearby ie state school. I'm only holding two at the moment.
