Is there a major difference. I remember reading that nothing is really processed until June 1 so does it really matter if you submit your app on May 16 vs let's say May 26 ?

It is probably not going to make a difference since you don't intend to take the DAT until July.

During August - Dental Schools are too busy sorting out their incoming students for 2005. Once they are settled in - I would think that is when admission commitees begin to go through applications for the following years class - doesn't that make sense? So I would guess Begininning of September is when they 'start the process' - and that gives them 3 months until the first invites come out in December -

based on the above: A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MAY 16 AND MAY 25 - I don't think so 😀

I think what you are asking is about AADSAS number...in that case...there might be a difference but it would be similar to # 10 vs. # 185. In the end does it matter...no...the fact that you applied really early (ie before mid-July) is what matters. Besides you have good numbers and probably will do well on the DAT so I wouldnt sweat it too much

In regard to your AADSAS number not really. This last year it opened on May 18th and I submitted my app on the 25th of May. My AADSAS # was in the high 200's.

Your logic is right but your timeline is a bit off. Acceptances start coming out in December, so many schools have been interviewing for several months. I think the earliest interviews I heard of this past cycle were in August.

Oh, WOW - I thought invites occur in December - ( I think I've been taking it a little bit TOO easy )

In theory it could be the difference between the first and second mailing, which could be a difference of 4-6 weeks until the schools receive your application.

To my knowledge batch mailings are done based on numbers, not on dates, so when a critical mass of applications is reached, those are placed into a batch to be mailed out.
