I would say that your experience can be whatever you want because they have so much scheduling flexibility. Pretty much everyone there hadn't done any research before residency but now they all have several papers and abstracts because the faculty has so much a going on and are always including the residents. Each resident has to do a presentation each year, but there is no other required research.
